Rural Office for Architecture
Old Barn
2011–2013
Conversion of a grade ll listed tythe barn and adjoining flint agricultural building in Edgefield, North Norfolk to a new family home. A careful balance was wrought between the agricultural aesthetic and the contemporary needs of a modern dwelling. The majority of the existing fabric was retained, with new works being complimentary to the heritage or distinctly modern. The single level accommodation arranged around two courtyard gardens, provides an open plan living space linked to bedrooms, bathrooms and storage, with an offset connection to the adjacent tythe barn.
